We’re Maria and Diego, partners in life and the duo behind Macondo Flowers.

With over 16 years of combined experience in the floral industry, Macondo has been a long-time dream and a true reflection of our passion for what we do. Flowers have always been more than just work for us, they are how we celebrate love, honor memories, and bring beauty into everyday moments.

The name Macondo comes from the magical town in One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez, a place filled with wonder, emotion, and unforgettable stories. To us, Macondo represents that same sense of magic, where every bouquet tells a story and every arrangement carries meaning. We believe flowers, like stories, have the power to move people.

Based in Bentleigh East, Melbourne, we’ve had the privilege of designing florals for weddings, large-scale events, intimate celebrations, and sympathy ceremonies. We understand that flowers are present in life’s most meaningful moments, joyful and tender alike, and we approach each design with care, empathy, and intention.
